G-Nitro’s Daily Music Wrap-Up – 10/17/24

Daily 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die selection:

Yes – Close To The Edge – Rating: 1.5 / 5

Easy response to this album. No! An 18 minute track to kick off the album was ugh. I’m sorry but these super long tracks artists like to do back then come off as nothing but pretentious. I gave this album until I was done with breakfast, and there were somehow still 3 songs left. I can’t with progressive rock, and most classic/dad rock as it is, so this was extra annoying.

Tsukasa Itoh – さよなら、こんにちは – Rating:  Vinyl/Packaging – Rating: 3.75 / 5

Oh I love the cutesy 80’s J-Pop music so much. This is another one of those albums, and my 2nd of Tsukasa Itoh’s. It’s cheesy showa idol era pop, and it’s just delicious. The songs are bubblegum synth pop. The vinyl is standard black for the time it was released and sounds great. The outer sleeve is thin and flimsy sadly, but it has the plastic sleeve and a foldout poster. For that I give it a 4. Even still, that outer sleeve can’t warrant more than a 3.75 from me.
