Daily 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die selection:
Elliott Smith – Figure 8 – Rating: 3 / 5
Another one of those albums just based on the cover and description, I expected to not like. Much to my surprise it was actually pretty decent. Solid pop melodies and Elliot Smith’s voice was pretty good. I think the album kind of blended together a bit too much to rate it higher than a 3, but it was still enjoyable overall.

Junko Hirotani – その愛に – Rating: 4.25 / 5 – Vinyl/Packaging – Rating: 4.5 / 5
One of the more chill city pop albums I’ve gotten recently. While there were some more upbeat catchy tracks, I found this album to be a great morning listen as I relaxed with the dog on the couch. It’s not super slow either, but sometimes you need an album like this that isn’t a get up and dance city pop banger. The outer sleeve is sturdy with an obi strip. The vinyl was a nice transparent deep blue, and had no issues with playback. Overall a good effort on this reissue.
