G-Nitro’s Daily Music Wrap-Up – 10/15/24

Daily 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die selection:

Aerosmith – Pump – Rating: 4 / 5

This was the first Aerosmith album I enjoyed when I was a kid, and it still holds up today music wise. I enjoyed going down the memory lane trip, rocking out, and singing along. There are just so many catchy bangers on this album. The only reason this gets a 4 and not a 5, is because there are still some songs that are just okay. Also I can’t deny I didn’t think about the problematic side of Aerosmith, in particular Steven Tyler, while listening. That definitely brought the experience down a bit as well.

The Offspring – SUPERCHARGED – Rating: 2.5 / 5

I’ll be honest here. I didn’t really expect much as it was going in, and that was for the best. It’s been 30 years since I first listened to The Offspring, and they’re still pumping out new music. Most of the songs were downright forgettable, but there were a few songs like “Make It All Right”, “Truth In Fiction”, and “Hanging By A Thread” that felt a bit more like what I always enjoyed of their stuff from the 90’s. By the end, I was glad it finished and didn’t go longer than its 30+ minute run time, as it is sadly a mediocre listening experience.
