G-Nitro’s Daily Music Wrap-Up – 09/30/24

Daily 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die selection:

The Avalanches – Since I Left You – Rating: 3 / 5

I didn’t know what to expect going in to this one, and it’s not a bad album at all. A lot of sampling, hip hop beats and breaks, mixed with some electronica. It was a pretty cool vibe for the morning while having breakfast, and getting ready. It can get repetitive, which isn’t too annoying, except the album went on a little too long. By the time it got to around 45 minutes I felt like it could have easily been finished, but instead it keeps going for about another 15 minutes. That’s where I finally felt like I had heard enough.

The G – Highway of Love – Rating: 4.75 / 5

Now this is a banger of a synthwave album. Picked this up on a whim last week by pre-ordering the vinyl. Was rocking out i nthe car to this one. I like how the album is mixed with instrumental synthwave and vocal synthwave tracks. The G really knows how to find singers that work really well his sound. “Alone Again” and “Forever 17” were my highlights for the album.
