Imagine if Bob Dylan was English, and decided to do post punk music in the 90s… That’s what this travesty is. Monotone singing with no personality that sounds the same with drawn out syllables that just exist to annoy the shit out of me. It’s sad because the music behind the singing isn’t bad, but wasn’t enough to keep me from stopping 3 tracks in.

Dance With The Dead – Dark Matter – Rating: 4.5 / 5

After picking some Thursday Five List Halloween tracks (you can find them toward the end of this post), I needed an actual album to fit the mood. So I went with Dance With The Dead’s latest EP release. Well I can say I was surprised to find the album is a lot more rock infused than I was expecting, but it works so well. The mixture of that hard rock/metal with the synthwave DwtD is known for, and then bringing in singers for a good chunk of songs and this is a fantastic EP. It was getting late at work, so this hit me like a cup of coffee and had me amped up, especially when the final track Rust hit.
