Hole – Celebrity Skin – Rating: 3.75 / 5

Can’t lie, but I was never much of a Courtney Love fan as a teen. That said, I’m glad this album came up and I got a chance to listen to it. Outside of Celebrity Skin, I hadn’t heard anything else on the album itself prior to this morning. It’s a really solid alt-rock album from the post-grunge era of the 90s, but isn’t great start to finish. While it kicks off really strong, it does suffer from some weaker tracks in the middle. It thankfully rebounds towards the end and leaves the listener satisfied when it is all said and done.

Ginger Root – Shinbangumi – Rating: 4.5 / 5

Another great album from Ginger Root here. He always nails the City Pop vibes, while bringing other indie pop, and as he’s known for, “aggressive elevator music” sounds into the music. From start to finish it keeps you grooving from track to track. I highly recommend checking out the music videos for this album for the story that adds even more to this album. The vinyl itself is absolutely gorgeous with the light blue and mix of white splatter and ghostly blobs. It also sounded great with no noticeable issues during playback.
