G-Nitro’s Daily Music Wrap-Up – 09/08/24

Daily 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die selection:

Leonard Cohen – Songs Of Love and Hate – Rating: PASS / 5

I’ve already DNF’d two of Cohen’s albums on this list, so I’m just going to pass. I can’t handle his singing. It’s way too monotone and boring.

Other albums:

Tzuyu – abouTZU – Rating: 4 / 5

I was wondering how Tzuyu would do on her own, and JYP churned out a really fun poppy album. Some great features by PENIEL, and especially pH-1 on “Lazy Baby”. A really good solo debut EP for her. The vinyl pressing sounds really good as well. My only complaint about the packaging is that I wish the vinyl variant color was red to better match the aesthetic of the images used on the sleeve.

Denzel Curry – King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 2 – Rating: 4.5 / 5

Denzel Curry drops a sick and grimy southern rap mixtape with a bunch of features like Juicy J, Project Pat, Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz, and more! Always impressed with Curry’s versatility when it comes to his rapping, and this album continues to showcase just that. The red smoke vinyl variant is gorgeous, and not a single issue during playback.
