Kelela – Take Me Apart – Rating: 3.25 / 5
This album isn’t bad at all, in fact it’s pretty solid, but it suffers from a long run time, and not really producing anything super memorable. Kelela has talent, and definitely soul, but I never found that any of the tracks proved to me why she should be on this list. I also felt like they could have trimmed the album down by a few songs and produced a slightly stronger showing. With how much amazing female R&B talent is out there, it makes this album choice a little baffling.
