Dusty Springfield – Dusty In Memphis – Rating: 4 / 5

White woman does soul music, and to be fair, she does it well. My problem is I can’t stop thinking about so many Black artists that do it even better. I was reading how this is considered one of the greatest albums of all time, but would she get that acclaim if not for being a white English woman able to sing the style? Again the album is really good and Dusty deserves flowers, but I think it is a bit overhyped because of what she looks like and not because of her talent.
