Daily 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die selection:
Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin III – Rating: 4.5 / 5
I’m pretty sure I said this when I got their 2nd album, but Zeppelin is probably my favorite classic rock band. Something about their style just always clicks with me. When “Immigrant Song” kicks off, I was so amped to rock out, and that I did. This was 40 minutes of just fantastic music, and it makes me wish more classic rock acts clicked with me the way they do.

Other Albums:
Mary J. Blige – Gratitude – 3.75 / 5
This was a really fun, but not great, album from Mary J. Blige, as my biggest gripe with it had to do with the featured artists. When Blige is on her own the tracks shine through with her voice and talent, whether its the slower tracks or the more upbeat. A lot of it recaptures the enjoyment I had with the Good Morning Gorgeous album. Unfortunately things breakdown a bit with the featured tracks. “Need You More” featuring Jadakiss is a mixed bag, as his presence and voice is welcome, but I felt the lyrics were just mediocre. The tracks I had the biggest issue with featured Fat Joe and A$AP Ferg, as neither felt like they matched up with the theme of their respective tracks they were on.
