Little Richard – Here’s Little Richard – Rating: 4.5 / 5

One of the albums that truly belongs on this list, just based on the influence Little Richard had on so many artists that would come after him, whether Rock, R&B, etc. The album itself is energetic as hell and you can’t help but move your body along. The only cons I have with the album is it can get a bit samey, and the production values just weren’t good enough back at the time this album was recorded. This leaves some songs coming off too high at times, which forced me to lower the volume due to how grating the audio would get. With the album clocking in at around 30 minutes, it does ensure the album doesn’t overstay its welcome with listeners. Rocking good time here!

When I hopped in the car this morning, I was in the mood for some R&B and that’s when I remembered the latest from Denise Julia. So I said let’s go and hit play! Let me tell you, if more recent R&B styles aren’t your jam, then peep this one. From Denise’s voice and singing style, and a production that oozes 90’s with 2024 production, it just hits differently amongst other releases this year. There are a couple tracks where she gave off some Aaliyah in her style, and that fully sold me on it.
