Depeche Mode – Violator – Rating: 4 / 5

In my youth I never actively listened to Depeche Mode, but I remember hearing them a lot on the radio or seeing them on MTV and it never clicking. So when I went into this album, I was sure I was going to be meh on it. Hearing this album now, not only do I recognize a bunch of the songs, I appreciate their music more. I came out of this album really enjoying it, and will definitely give it a re-listen.

This is a random selection I got from a vinyl club, so I didn’t know what to expect here outside of it being LoFi Rock. Track 1 hit and I was already enjoying it, and that feeling kept going through the rest of the album. It’s really chill vibes with this one, along with some deeper lyrics at times. Going to have to check out more of this artist’s stuff for sure. This has a plain black vinyl with a printed inner sleeve with lyrics on it. The outer sleeve is a sturdy matte finish. Just a normal vinyl release, with no real extras to it outside of a download code.
