Daily 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die selection:
Gotan Project – La Revancha Del Tango – Rating: 3.75 / 5
When I saw this pop up, I really didn’t know what it was. I saw the Spanish name of the album, then the description said a French group, and I was like wait what!?! It turned out to be a pretty good and interesting album. It’s basically electronic latin jazz, and it works well. I found myself really getting into the album and enjoying the ways they incorporated the different styles together. The only issue is the album is almost 1 ½ hours long, so when I got to the remix tracks I decided that was enough and ended it there. Still a really cool album worth checking out.

Sofía Valdés – Sofía Valdés – Rating: 4.5 / 5
This is a really good pop album that is a mix of Spanish and English tracks, and regardless of which language she is singing she sounds so effortless. I really enjoy Sofía’s voice, and it gives off different feelings and emotions depending on which language she’s singing. I was reading while listening, and I kept putting the book aside to stop and listen to her voice. Definitely recommending this one, and really hoping for a vinyl release.
